How to best choose the appropriate camp for your child
Open Riding Camp is for any child to participate and learn basic horse safety, handling and beginning riding. This camp is designed for first time exposure to horses for the child who loves horses but does not normally have the opportunity or means to be involved with horses. If your child is bugging you for a horse and you want to satisfy the curiosity or see if he/she is truly serious about learning to ride – this is the camp for you.
Therapeutic Riding Camp for children with Autism. If your child has been diagnosed within the autism spectrum, this camp is a wonderful opportunity for sensory integration, dynamic input and stimulation, self-regulation, and recreational fun within an understanding and appropriate environment that is conducive to the autistic personality. Our staff is well trained and certified with NARHA (narha.org) and carries credentials to meet your child’s needs. Each child will have volunteers trained in working with autism and provide support in all activities.
CAN or Youth Riding Camp. Does your child have difficulty with authority? Exhibit rebellious or disrespectful behavior? Have low self-esteem? Fearful of new experiences? Difficulty with peer relationships and social interaction? Exhibiting problems in school or lack of interest in school? Do you know a child from an abused or neglected situation suffering from a lack personal acceptance and worth? Do you know a child in foster care? This camp is designed to address these and other issues and provide activities such as horseback riding, fishing, building projects, challenge course and camping skills that begin to build confidence, trust, and friendships that open doors for healing opportunities.
Therapeutic Riding Camp – This camp is specifically designed for children with physical disabilities including but not limited to: cerebral palsy, brain injury, partial paralysis, down syndrome, developmental delay, and mental impairment. Our staff are highly trained and observe the strictest safety and accreditation standards for the therapeutic benefit of your child. Participation will require a physician release.
